Our speakers will be –

Adam Agalloco, Energy Manager:  City of Philadelphia

Adam Agalloco is the Energy Manager of the City of Philadelphia. He Leads the City’s Energy Office’s staff with overall responsibility for all operational and programmatic aspects of energy including securing the City’s energy supply, management of City finances associated with energy, and implementation of energy conservation and efficiency tied to the City’s sustainability goals.

Adam initiates an aggressive energy conservation program to help the City meet its energy reductions goals in City owned facilities through a combination of investments in energy efficiency projects and energy conservation programs.

Adam has degrees in sustainable design from Philadelphia University and a BME in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University.

Katie Bartolotta, Project & Program Manager: Green Building United

Katie Bartolotta is the Policy and Program Manager of Green Building United.  Katie leads the organization’s local, state and federal policy and advocacy efforts that fosters a transformative impact in our communities through green building education .Their vision is a sustainable, healthy, and resilient built environment for all.

Green Building United convenes the Philadelphia 2030 District. The initiative brings together property owners and managers with professional and community stakeholders, local governments, and utilities to achieve voluntary reductions in energy and water use, and in transportation emissions by the year 2030. Thus far, Green Building United has received commitments to reach the district goals from buildings totaling nearly 20 million square feet.

Katie has a BA in political Science from the University of Rochester.

Emily Schapira, Board Member & Executive Director:  Philadelphia Energy Authority  

Emily Schapira is the Philadelphia Energy Authorities Executive Director and current Vice Chair of the Board. She joined PEA as an employee in 2016 to execute the Philadelphia Energy Campaign, a billion dollar, 10 year initiative to advance energy efficiency and clean energy across Philadelphia, while creating over 10,000 jobs. Emily has been a PEA board member since 2011, as the City Council appointee.

She earned her MBA from Wharton in environmental and risk management and has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania. She has been a LEED accredited professional and sits on the alumni advisory board of Penn’s initiative for environmental leadership.

Stephen Zook, Procurement Manager & Strategy Analyst:  Philadelphia School District

Stephen Zook is the Procurement Manager and Strategy Analyst for the School District of Philadelphia. He oversees public solicitations and helps design strategy and policy for purchasing and contracting at the School District of Philadelphia. His work includes procurement administration, de-regulated energy commodity purchasing strategies, business writing, RFP/proposal evaluation, price and service negotiations and cooperative purchasing analysis.

Stephen has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Temple University and was the editor in chief of the Temple News.
